Responding to Medway Council

The development potential

Medway Council's emerging Core Strategy will set out the strategy for meeting the Borough's growth requirements, including new homes, employment and community facilities.
Medway Council's Issues and Options paper for the Core Strategy, published on the 27th July 2009, sets out the key issues and challenges facing the Medway area. This paper considers a number of possible locations for new housing development, such as the expansion of Hoo St Werburgh, development in the Capstone Valley, along with development east and west of Rainham.
The Issues and Options paper states that Lodge Hill forms part of the Council's preferred strategy for accommodating new housing and other facilities.
Medway Council's consultation period on the Issues and Options runs from the 27th July to the 18th September 2009. A number of staffed exhibitions have been organised by the Council in August and September.
